Judges Wood, Leighton Receiving Honorary Degrees at Jan. 17 Commencement

The John Marshall Law School will award 115 JD degrees, 50 LLM degrees, and an MS degree in taxation during its Jan. 17 commencement exercises at 3 p.m. at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers.

An honorary degree will be awarded to Judge Diane P. Wood of the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, who will address the graduates. A second honorary degree will be presented to retired US District Court Judge George Leighton, who is being recognized as an exceptional friend of the law school.

Special recognition will be given to Professor Michael P. Seng, who will receive the Leadership and Dedicated Service Award, and Professor Debra Pogrund Stark , who will receive the Scholarly Achievement Award. The Adjunct Teaching Award will be presented to Eugene J. Schiltz of Coleman Law Firm.

The valedictory address will be delivered by Timothy Herman.
